In this release, we have made performance improvements to the 'Most Popular' block for Data Insights partners, improvements to keyword auto tagging, expanded the default list of blocked user agents, and made miscellaneous bug fixes.
FEATURES
An experiment for Data Insights partners has been created that updates the 'Most Popular' Utility block on their website to be powered by Data Insights which is Real Time instead of the existing 2-3 hour delay.
Please contact customer support at (800) 293-9576 or BLOXDigital.com/support if you're interested in enabling this experiment. (TNCMS-554683)We have enhanced the editorial webservice call (
editorial/get
) to include thehide_details
andhide_headlines
properties for embedded collections. Previously, these attributes were only available when the collection was queried separately. Now, when making a webservice call (e.g., editorial/get) for an article with embedded collections, thehide_details
andhide_headlines
properties will be part of the response payload, eliminating the need for an additional query. (TNCMS-554772)We have updated the
editorial/search
webservice to now include the asset URL in the response. This improvement allows users to directly retrieve the URL for each asset when querying the endpoint. (TNCMS-555371)
IMPROVEMENTS
We're deploying an improvement to the auto tagging feature to only tag keywords that have a 100% confidence displayed. Since adding in the IAB taxonomy there are now several keywords available making 100% confidence the logical choice for a selection that may not be monitored by users. (TNCMS-555298)
We have resolved an issue where users and admins were encountering a paywall despite being logged in. This was caused by the login block being rendered before the heartbeat could destroy the session cookie, leading to login state inconsistencies. Users will now receive a clear alert when they have been logged out via a heartbeat event, such as when exceeding allowed concurrent logins or being forcibly logged out. This fix ensures that session state changes are properly reflected, and users are notified immediately upon logout, improving user experience and clarity. (TNCMS-555340)
As part of our ongoing effort to manage web crawlers and protect client content, we have expanded the default list of user agents blocked via
robots.txt
. In addition to the existing bots, we have now included the following:Bytespider: Blocks crawling and training activities for ByteDance's LLMs.
ClaudeBot: Prevents content scraping for training the Claude chatbot.
Amazonbot: Blocks indexing for Alexa's question-answering.
PerplexityBot: Blocks due to deceptive scraping practices.
Sites retain the ability to override this list and add or remove bots as needed. (TNCMS-555360)
BUGS
We have resolved an issue where BLOX VMS videos without live dates could create infinite loops when updated in BLOX CMS. To address this, BLOX CMS will now push the start date as the BLOX VMS live date during updates. This ensures that the start date in both systems matches, preventing further detection of changes and eliminating the loop. (TNCMS-555327)
A bug causing editorial content with start dates between 5-6 hours before the end of the day to be skipped from Data Insights reporting has been resolved. Content produced with start dates later than 6PM Central is now correctly included in the data exports, ensuring comprehensive reporting. (TNCMS-555355)
We have fixed an issue where the Birthday field on the User Dashboard was defaulting to today's date when editing and saving the user profile. Now, the Birthday field will remain blank unless explicitly set by the user, and any entered birthday will be saved correctly. (TNCMS-555383)
We have fixed an issue where the Batch Edit process was affecting more assets than expected when the Photo Sales parameter was enabled. Now, the number of assets edited will accurately match the search results. (TNCMS-555385)
We have resolved an issue that caused an error when creating new Automations in the Editorial application. This error occurred due to an incorrect value being passed for the 'enabled' column during the creation process. (TNCMS-555392)
We have resolved an issue where the GA4 setting, though added and saved in the
tncms-google-settings
, was not being properly communicated or injected into templates for Analytics. This fix ensures that GA4 configuration is now correctly applied and utilized in templates. For detailed configuration steps, refer to the GA4 preparation guide. (TNCMS-555416)
This release also makes minor infrastructure changes that should not be noticeable to admin or front-end users.
