In this release of FLEX Templates (version 3.272.0), we're improving the subscription and payment experience with enhanced checkout tracking, a new billing address option for the Audience+ paywall, and a simplified dashboard payment workflow. We're also resolving several bugs related to ads, e-Editions, social sharing, and PayPal purchases.
Features & Improvements
We added a clearer label for the Google Ad Manager block used in Email Reach. The block previously named "flex-email-gam-ads" now appears as "Email ads: Google Ad Manager" so customers can easily identify and use it. (FLEXBLOX-10770)
We added a new Payment Address page customization to the Audience+ Paywall panel, allowing publishers to control whether billing address fields appear in the purchase form. Options include Disabled (default), Full Address, or Region/Postal/Country only. As part of this update, Page Customizations will also reorder the Paywall sections and rename the legacy configuration to Paywall - Legacy for clarity. (FLEXBLOX-10702)
The Update Payment Method form in the user dashboard is now available without any additional configuration. The dashboard purchase and renewal workflows have been streamlined, making it easier to manage subscriptions without enabling legacy settings. (FLEXBLOX-10523)
Subscription checkout tracking events now include payment request methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, and all payment methods accepted on a site are accurately reflected in checkout analytics. (FLEXBLOX-10703)
We added tracking for exception events in the Single Page Purchase experience to help identify and troubleshoot purchase failures. Template errors, validation issues, and payment interruptions across all payment methods are now captured and logged for analytics and monitoring. (FLEXBLOX-10676)
Bugs
Fixed an issue where social share icons using the "colorful squares" style were not evenly aligned. Icon spacing and sizing have been adjusted, including the Bluesky icon background, so share icons now display consistently across desktop and mobile. (FLEXBLOX-10664)
Fixed an issue where the Sticky Anchor creative template wasn't functioning when a tracking pixel was defined. (FLEXBLOX-10745)
Fixed an issue where the Sticky Anchor ad overlapped the Audience+ login modal. Now, when the sticky ad is enabled, the paywall and login modal are properly padded to accommodate the ad size. (FLEXBLOX-10763)
Fixed an issue where the PayPal payment method failed for services requiring a delivery address. Now, address information is correctly passed to PayPal, allowing purchases to complete successfully. (FLEXBLOX-10765)
Fixed an issue where the Twitter/X social card type 'auto' no longer worked. Assets set to 'auto' now default to 'summary', and the correct tag is output. Selecting 'large image' or 'summary' continues to function as expected. (FLEXBLOX-10775)
Fixed an issue where mugshot images could appear as the primary image in Google search results due to structured data placement. The mugshot image near the asset header no longer includes the structured data attribute, ensuring the correct article image is prioritized in search results. (FLEXBLOX-10592)
Fixed an issue in E-Edition where opening and closing a segment caused segments to become inaccessible due to the audio player. (FLEXBLOX-10756)
