In this release of BLOX Core, we have increased the Page Title character limit, added the ability for app developers to build in-app embeds, updated our default bot-blocking, and resolved misc. bugs.
FEATURES
Added future support for customizable alt text on image assets to enhance accessibility compliance. This new field, adjacent to the caption, enables plain-text descriptions without character limits, allowing media sites to ensure ADA-compliant alt text for a more inclusive user experience. (TNCMS-7590)
📝A template update will still be required before alt text will be visible to end users, Look for that soon!
IMPROVEMENTS
We’ve added a YouTube video ID to the properties in the editorial/get web service for assets with embedded YouTube videos, allowing app developers to build in-app embeds without redirecting to a web view. If the YouTube ID is unavailable, the raw YouTube URL will be provided. (TNCMS-555491)
We’ve increased the Page Title character limit from 50 to 70 characters to align with SEO best practices. Titles exceeding 70 characters will prompt a warning in the admin, along with a visual character counter to guide admins before saving. (TNCMS-554352)
We have updated our default bot-blocking list to enhance site security and performance. (TNCMS-555464)
BUGS
Resolved issue where attempting to delete a video asset in BLOX CMS that no longer exists on BLOX VMS caused an error due to a missing or invalid key. The CMS now handles the deletion without error, even if the video has already been removed from VMS. (TNCMS-555167)
Resolved issue where video uploads from BLOX VMS with spaces in the filename resulted in a "Video file unavailable" error. Videos with spaces in the filename now correctly create remote video assets in BLOX CMS. (TNCMS-554432)
Fixed an issue where a JavaScript error, "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'refresh')" occurred when canceling and reopening the CSV Import in table assets. (TNCMS-555022)
Fixed an issue where inline assets remained in the WYSIWYG editor when duplicating articles, resulting in "ghost" assets that did not appear on the frontend. Now, duplicated articles are cleared of all inline asset references. (TNCMS-555488)
This release also makes minor infrastructure changes that should not be noticeable to admin or front-end users.
