In this release for BLOX Mobile NX, App Version 213.0/9.14, we are we are improving the display of HTML content within native article pages, giving deeper customization for branding with custom placeholder images, and adding and improving analytics events.

iOS & Android features / improvements
Dynamic collections will display properly in a newly designed mobile presentation. (TNNOWIOS-1063 / TNNOWANDROID-839)
Custom headline and subhead text will display properly on the native paywall if set from an offer group in Access Control. (TNNOWIOS-1177 / TNNOWANDROID-990)

Whitespace will be stripped from the front and back of text entries when a user submits login information. (TNNOWIOS-1186 / TNNOWANDROID-999)

App managers can customize their search pages to return only certain asset types and to narrow the search time period for default searches. Please note app users can still use the advanced filters to override these. Please see the documentation for set up. (TNNOWIOS-1207 / TNNOWANDROID-1024)
Vertical videos will display in full height when played in the in-line video frame. Previously these videos would display cut off and centered within the frame. (TNNOWIOS-1231 / TNNOWANDROID-1038)
iOS features / improvements
"Manage Subscriptions" has been removed from the Profile screen due to issues with the Apple App Store review process. (TNNOWIOS-1188)
Facebook video embeds, placed within an article, will now display properly in the native article detail view. (TNNOWIOS-1220)
Spanish localization on the "Profile" view has been improved to use the proper pronouns. (TNNOWIOS-1179)
iOS bugs
The utility block background color properly adopts the AppMan block background color. (TNNOWIOS-1147)
The indicator color set in AppMan will use the same color on both iOS and Android. (TNNOWIOS-1149)
A bug caused the subscribe deep link to take users to the home feed instead of the in-app purchase (iAP) subscribe user flow. The user will be taken to the subscribe page. (TNNOWIOS-1152)
A bug where the review prompt would show more than once after a user selected "No, thanks" has been resolved. (TNNOWIOS-1161)
When a web URL is placed as the first option in the sections list, the app would open the ‘customize your sections’ page. This web URL will now open as expected when tapped. (TNNOWIOS-1168)
On some app setups, pre-roll video ads would not show as expected. Pre-roll ads will now show when inventory allows. (TNNOWIOS-1175)
Using the feature block with certain asset types would cause the asset to open in a webkit view instead of a native view. The asset will now open in the expected view. (TNNOWIOS-1182)
HTML children assets displayed in the header carousel were previously showing a placeholder image instead of the expected content. Content will now render properly. (TNNOWIOS-1185)
While in HTML mode, when a user was expected to see the paywall, they would see the login screen instead. Dismissing the screen would cause it to reappear. The paywall will now show and hide as expected. (TNNOWIOS-1187)
A bug where a user would logout and continue to have access to subscriber content has been addressed. Logged out users will now be treated as an anonymous user while checking access. (TNNOWIOS-1192)
FB/GA4: A bug caused the "is_subscriber" field to return true only for subscribers with in-app purchase (iAP) subscriptions. The field will now return true when the subscriber has a subscription from the web or iAP. (TNNOWIOS-1193)
Two-column grid cards will now adopt the background color set in page customizations of AppMan. (TNNOWIOS-1198)
A bug where push notifications for user segments (subscribed, unsubscribed, registered, etc) were not properly displayed to users. Users will now see the expected push notification topics available to them based on access. (TNNOWIOS-1214)
When a webkit tab was added to the tab bar and the app refreshed due to inactivity, the app would sometimes crash. This has been resolved. (TNNOWIOS-1144)
Minor bugs from crash reports have been resolved. (TNNOWIOS-1140, TNNOWIOS-1142)
Android features / improvements
Additional padding has been added to the bottom of the asset feed and secondary views to prevent sticky ads from blocking content. (TNNOWANDROID-680)
The {DEVICE_IP} video macro will now return the IP address of the device. (TNNOWANDROID-985)
The crop tool in the e-Edition reader will show and allow the user to save/print the exact selected region. (TNNOWANDROID-1022)
While in HTML mode, videos will expand to full screen if the user attempts to expand the player. (TNNOWANDROID-1025)
The NX Mobile app has been updated to use the Android Photo Picker. This is a requirement for new and updated app submissions beginning November 1st (or January 2025 if an extension was filed). (TNNOWANDROID-1028)
Android bugs
When a user clicks on a notification while the app is open, they will be taken to the correct article instead of the home page. (TNNOWANDROID-903)
Selecting a web link from the section slider will open the link within a webkit view instead of attempting to open in a native view. (TNNOWANDROID-978)
BLOX assets and static pages will open in the proper NowApp Chromeless template instead of a mobile web view. (TNNOWANDROID-996)
This release also makes minor infrastructure changes that should not be noticeable to admin or front-end users.
