This release of BLOX Subscriptions (1.69.0) introduces custom statement descriptors, advanced subscription export fields, and expanded activity logging for the NXT Single Customer View. It also improves reliability for third-party payments and In-App Purchases while resolving several critical reporting and indexing bugs to ensure a more accurate audit trail.
FEATURES & IMPROVEMENTS
We added support for upcoming rate change notifications for auto-renewing subscriptions. Admins can enable email alerts and configure how many days in advance customers are notified, helping ensure subscribers are informed before billing changes take effect. On the Configure tab of the Service, look for “Rate Change Email Lead Time,” then select 7, 14 or 30 days from the dropdown. Then check the “Email Before Rate Changes” box on the Email Notifications tab. (SUBSCRIPTN-557673)
We improved NXT Transactions by passing the source application, so subscription payments are labeled “Subscription” for easier filtering and reporting. (SUBSCRIPTN-557739)
We’ve added support for custom statement descriptors to subscription services, allowing you to define the text that appears on a customer's bank statement. This helps reduce chargebacks by making transactions easily identifiable and can be managed in both legacy configurations and via the Web Service. (SUBSCRIPTN-557768)
We’ve added more activity stream logging to the NXT Single Customer View for payment method updates, including cards added by admins or customers and changes to subscription payment methods. (SUBSCRIPTN-557750)
We’ve added new data fields to the NXT Contacts export to help managers better forecast revenue. The "records" export now includes specific details on current rate names, next rate prices, and the number of billing cycles remaining before a rate transition occurs. (SUBSCRIPTN-557751)
We’ve built backend support for tracking credit card updates and associated saved revenue to be available in BLOX NXT in the future, enabling even better visibility into recovered revenue and Wallet performance. (SUBSCRIPTN-557678)
We’ve built support for an on-demand Deferred Revenue Report to be available in BLOX NXT in the future, enabling daily subscription revenue breakdowns and expanded reporting capabilities. (SUBSCRIPTN-557744)
We’ve built support for a Revenue, Starts, and Stops report to be available in BLOX NXT in the future, enabling high-level visibility into subscription performance, including starts, cancellations, and subscription revenue. (SUBSCRIPTN-557745)
BUGS
We fixed a bug where renewal transactions for offsite PayPal payments were appearing with a blank payment method. This update ensures that PayPal is correctly identified on all subsequent automated renewals for accurate record-keeping and processing. (SUBSCRIPTN-557224)
We fixed an issue where some redeemed gift subscriptions were not appearing in BLOX CMS search results. The system now correctly triggers a re-index upon redemption, ensuring these subscriptions are visible and searchable. (SUBSCRIPTN-557379)
We updated In-App Purchase (IAP) handling to ensure subscribers retain access until the end of their current billing term if they cancel through Apple or Google. Instead of losing access immediately, the system now calculates the proper expiration date and updates the status with a specific "3rd-party stop" reason for better tracking. (SUBSCRIPTN-557626)
We fixed an issue where delayed PayPal transactions were not updating after settlement, leaving subscriptions stuck in a “renewal_pending” status. Transactions are now properly reconciled and updated once payment is completed. (SUBSCRIPTN-557677)
We fixed an issue where subscription rates could be created with a duration of 0, causing errors during purchase. Rates now require a valid duration of at least one day. (SUBSCRIPTN-557710)
We’ve fixed an issue in the NXT delimited import process where error logs would occasionally return a “not found” message due to a system lag. This ensures that error logs for CSV uploads are now available for download immediately after the task finishes. (SUBSCRIPTN-557779)
We are also making infrastructure changes that should not be noticeable to admin or front-end users.
