Bug Fix) The browser based preferences has a setting for Auto Check Out. This option allows the Adobe InDesign users to select the Automatic Check Out All option. But when set to false, while it took their access to change the value away, it didn't actually uncheck the option. That has been corrected. Note: Auto Check Out is not recommended even though the browser based preference is set to true. The problem with Automatic Check Out All is that it causes larger amounts of communication on the network and thus slows all users down. The advantage is that it allows sites that automate asset workflows processes via output preferences. For that use it is a necessity except for the output option to forceFinalProcess during final output. JIRA INDESIGN-1819

Minor Change) The location of the Automatic Check Out All option has moved from the Translation Options tab to the more appropriate Asset & Image Controls tab of the Settings and Support dialog. JIRA INDESIGN-1819

Bug Fix) If users had an unsaved document (like an untitled document) open and then tried to use BLOX Total CMS > Documents > Open Nearby >, an error would be generated. A similar error with Combine With happened. Both have been fixed. Keep in mind that if you aren't using BLOX Total CMS documents, you should use BLOX Total CMS > Log Out... JIRA INDESIGN-2124

Minor Bug Fix) When using the BLOX Total CMS > Documents > New... dialog, if you attempted to use a template from a newer version that your current version of Adobe InDesign couldn't open, you would get two warning dialogs. The second was nonsensical and has been removed. JIRA INDESIGN-2158

Minor Logging Fix) The log had six locations where it logged NaN instead of a proper value. This has been fixed. JIRA INDESIGN-2171

5.31.04-1 Released 2018.04.18

Minor Bug Fix) There was a bug opening older Adobe InDesign documents with a newer version of Adobe InDesign if the user was logged into the BLOX Total CMS client. The bug prevented the document from processing all of the normal checks on the opening document. It is not known if a site experienced this issue what was introduced with the 5.27.03 version of the BLOX Total CMS client for Adobe InDesign. This has been corrected. JIRA INDESIGN-2144

Verified Feature) We had a report that the Override .adinfo file function wasn't operating correctly. We verified its operation and have issued a replacement .jsxbin file. JIRA INDESIGN-2164

5.31.03-1 Released 2018.04.18

Major Bug Fix) The 5.27.x version added a new simpler and faster method to create new documents in Adobe InDesign. Unfortunately it didn't add the event handlers to the documents and closing them would leave the assets checked out in BLOX Total CMS. This has been corrected. JIRA INDESIGN-2162

5.31.02-1 Released 2018.04.17

Bug Fix) There is a specific Adobe PDF Preset that is used to generate the Page Tracker previews. If that preset is removed the code that checks for its existence had a bug that could then snowball to producing Adobe InDesign errors if the preset didn't exist (because it was deleted) or if the preset had been damaged. This has been corrected and throughly tested. Users should now see a clear warning message when the preset isn't functional and it contains instructions to quit and relaunch Adobe InDesign to have the BLOX Total CMS client auto load the preset. JIRA INDESIGN-2137

Bug Fix) As the user options were moved from BLOX Total CMS > Options > to BLOX Total CMS > Settings and Support... the Handle Children Simultaneously and Match Parent Workflows options in the Check In... and Create InCopy Assignment... dialogs got disconnected. They would function but their settings were not retained. This has been corrected. JIRA INDESIGN-2153

Bug Fix) An early tester of the 5.31.01 version found that certain Adobe InCopy assignment files would not open in Adobe InCopy. This is a similar problem to what was fixed in INDESIGN-2100 in 5.28.04. This has been corrected. JIRA INDESIGN-2154

Bug Fix) There was an internal bug added in version 5.29.01 that caused the creation of assignments to not properly recognize the site's nor the user's preference on creating placeholder assignments for Adobe InCopy. Placeholder assignments causes it to only show the assigned asset(s) and nothing but placeholders for the rest of the page(s). This bug has been corrected. Only a handful of sites used that version and none experienced the issue which was discovered by the TownNews BLOX Total CMS staff. JIRA INDESIGN-2156

5.31.01 Released 2018.04.13

Bug Fix) The ability to turn off the backup of edition files first released in 5.28.x was flawed in that even if off, it would try to backup the layout files for sites such as Layout 8000 that use two files. This has been fixed. JIRA INDESIGN-2132.

Major Bug Fix) The export functions from Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy that requested special tags to be placed before or after the format, usually an HTML note with the name of the paragraph style, was broken. Those tags would have been listed in the Export ruleset, but the bug caused the tags to be removed from the exported text. If the asset reflowed, the special formatting would have been lost. The bug was created in the 5.28.03 version of the client. Any users of that version upto version 5.31.01 should update to 5.31.01 or later. JIRA INDESIGN-2135

Write-back Improvement) If you are breaking consecutive paragraphs without any trailing spaces on the Adobe InDesign page or in Adobe InCopy and the applied paragraph style exports with Heading tags <h1> through <h6> the paragraphs would have been joined together in one paragraph, but without any spaces. This was affecting sites who forgot to leave spaces after each line of an inline subhead or breaker head. We now, without any ruleset changes, add a space before the closing Heading tag to allow these paragraphs to read correctly. In case this adds an additional space, for those users that are correctly leaving the space at the end of each line, the client code will replace the twin spaces with a single. Note the 5.28.03 version of the client fixed a bug where consecutive lines of headings would have been exported from Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy as separate paragraphs instead of a single paragraph. JIRA INDESIGN-2136

Major Bug Fix) The translation of articles with trimmed text would fail if the trimmed text also had local formatting such as bold or italic or other items that might have applied character styles or hard coded formatting. This has been corrected. JIRA INDESIGN-2138

Bug Fix) Frames holding Merged assets were being completely ignored by the Clone and Merge function. This has been corrected. Clone and Move is a powerful feature that allows parts or complete page designs to be moved or replicated to different pages in the same or different edition. It is only available to Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud sites. JIRA INDESIGN-2139

Bug Fix) The Asset Manager, which stores its size and position, has been recording incorrect locations and then trying to restore itself to these unreachable positions. This resulted in the dialog being draw partially off screen. Now, if an unreachable position is attempted, the repositioning to the recorded size and position will be canceled and Adobe InDesign or Adobe InCopy will decide where the Asset Manager should be relocated. JIRA INDESIGN-2410

Major Bug Fix) The BLOX Total CMS client for Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy had a bug where if multiple paragraphs of text were trimmed and the trimming included an inline asset, the inline asset would not be untrimmed and returned to BLOX Total CMS as code instead of as an inline asset. This has been fixed. JIRA INDESIGN-2146

Bug Fix) The Menu Ordering options in Settings and Support added in the 5.29.x client had a flaw in that if you chose Move Clone and Move... but didn't choose Move Documents submenu towards top you would have hidden the Clone and Move function completely. This has been fixed. Note, the very powerful Clone and Move function requires Adobe InDesign CC. It doesn't work with the CS versions. JIRA INDESIGN-2149
