At BLOX Digital, we believe success starts with finding the right people. The work we do here is changing the local media industry, and these are the people who are making it happen. Today we shine a light on Ali Bettinson, Project Manager.
What is your background?
I attended Waldorf University where I competed on the women's wrestling team. After I graduated from Waldorf in 2017 with my master's in organizational leadership, I began my professional career working in the Financial Aid department at Waldorf. We moved to Montana where I worked at Montana State University Northern first as the Admission's Evaluator and then as the Director of Student Support Services.
In October of 2020 my husband was hired as the new Head Men's Wrestling Coach for St. Ambrose University. With this relocation I decided to move away from higher education and research jobs in a new industry. I came across Project Management with BLOX Digital and decided to give it a try!
What do you love most about your job?
I really enjoy that this job keeps me on my toes! It is an ever changing environment. (The total opposite of what I was used to with Higher Education.) It's helped me work out of my comfort zone and strengthen my professional skill set.
What are you currently working on that you'd like everyone to know more about?
Currently, I'm working on building my project load since returning from maternity leave. I recently learned I'll be working with Audience+. So I'm excited to dive back in to onboarding our customers with such awesome subscription solutions!
What are you most excited about for the future of the news industry?
I'm excited to see how the news industry progresses as we move further into the digital age, and how sites prepare for the transition of demographics.
What's something people don't know about you?
I live in the Quad Cities with my husband, Bo. We've been together since we were 17. We have three dogs, and we just welcomed our baby girl into our lives earlier this year!
Ali's pups, left to right: Gus, Murphy and Lady, helped her announce her pregnancy last year.
