At BLOX Digital, we believe success starts with finding the right people. The work we do here is changing the local media industry, and these are the people who are making it happen. Today we shine a light on Anita Lopez, Quality Control Coordinator.
What is your background?
I've worked for BLOX Digital for over ten years, all in the quality assurance department. Before joining the team here, I worked in ticket sales for the local arena and graduated with my degree in computer programming.
What do you love most about your job?
I love how we get along in our department and the way we communicate. The QA department likes to joke around so we can keep it light and have fun while we work hard and help each other out.
What are you currently working on that you’d like everyone to know more about?
My job involves ensuring sites are pulling in the correct information in the correct layout for the correct sections before they launch. Where QA might be more for our software and products, QC focuses on the sites that are coming. Everything will be just right before they go live.
What are you most excited about for the future of the news industry?
I'm excited to see BLOX Digital expand and include sites that are not just in the United States. I recently QC'd a site in Puerto Rico that was entirely in Spanish. That was a fun challenge. It's great to see local news be accessible from farther away.
What's something people don't know about you?
I grew up using sign language but it was more like slang so I want to learn more formal ASL. And I'm a huge Cowboys fan!
