At BLOX Digital, we believe success starts with finding the right people. The work we do here is changing the local media industry, and these are the people who are making it happen. Today we shine a light on Bridget Sibthorp-Moecker, Director of Audience.
What is your background?
Before joining BLOX Digital, I worked for Lee Enterprises for 15 years in the digital space. I worked in IT, advertising, the newsroom and administration at local newspapers. I joined the Lee corporate team in 2017, and took on the responsibility for growing digital subscriptions. Staying current with the industry is a big focus for me, so I participate in INMA, Facebook Accelerator, the Google News Initiative, as well as pursuing my own executive education.
What do you love most about your job?
My true passion is helping local news organizations thrive. One of my very best friends still works in the newsroom of my hometown paper. It's different when you have a friend that's in the trenches every day. It's that personal for me. What I do here can help her, and others.Â
What are you currently working on that you’d like everyone to know more about?
We’re working on exciting redesigns for the BLOX Live e-Editions and BLOX Email Reach that will make those products even more engaging. And for iQ Audience+, we are building on the incredible success of one-page payments and targeted paywalls with improvements to acquisition and retention user journeys.
What are you most excited about for the future of the news industry?
Whether your operation is big or small, digital native or legacy, print, broadcast or radio, every local media organization has an opportunity to grow reader revenue and engagement. And BLOX Digital is helping their business. We're not here to just help them make it "in the black," we want to help them thrive.
What's something people don't know about you?
I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and I have a collection of baby yodas. I know his name is Grogu, but he's always going to be Baby Yoda to me.
