At BLOX Digital, we believe success starts with finding the right people. The work we do here is changing the local media industry, and these are the people who are making it happen. Today we shine a light on Cathy Pisano, Project Manager.
What is your background?
My career started in commercial traffic operations at a regional sports network in Pittsburgh, PA. (Let's go Pens!) I then went on to work with iHeartRadio in the Toledo, OH region followed by the radio group, Cumulus Media, where I started working more on the project management side of things.
My time in radio included a two-year project where I got to travel all over USA training and implementing new software across the entire company; and a three-year project starting and maintaining a brand new department.
Last year I received the Google Project Management certification and I am looking forward to getting my Project Management Professional certification soon.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that every day can bring something new! It keeps things challenging but also lets me utilize my creative thinking skills.
I also love working with clients to meet their needs, and collaborating internally with such an amazing group of motivated and supportive coworkers. The culture here is like no other that I have experienced.
What are you currently working on that you'd like everyone to know more about?
The rebrand to BLOX Digital! This project has been a huge growth point, not only in my career as a project manager and but also within our company. It's been an amazing opportunity thanks to my manager, Betsy Green.
While there are many lessons learned from being the "new kid" on the block, having a different perspective has really helped with the organization of this project.
What are you most excited about for the future of the news industry?
I love that we are helping the news industry find new solutions to grow and evolve in times where that is absolutely necessary. I'm excited to see what's next!
What's something people don't know about you?
I love to watch anything live. I've been to probably hundreds of various sporting events and concerts. My most brag worthy and exciting live event was seeing the Pittsburgh Penguins play in Detroit during the winning game seven for the Stanley Cup in 2009.
