At TownNews, we believe success starts with finding the right people. The work we do here is changing the local media industry, and these are the people who are making it happen. Today we shine a light on Isaac Alter, Content Syndication Manager.
What is your background?
I went to the University of Wisconsin to study journalism and political science. While I was there, I had internships in both of those fields, including with the Center for Journalism Ethics. I started as an intern with the Lee Digital Content Center when I was a senior and stuck with that group when I graduated. Last year I joined TownNews and have been working on the Content Exchange ever since.
What do you love most about your job?
I’ve always loved reading the news, and especially local news. So, getting to see all the great content that TownNews’ customers produce is fun. Being able to highlight some of that work and share it with a larger audience across the Content Exchange is very rewarding.
What are you currently working on that you’d like everyone to know more about?
We added great content partners in 2021 and have more lined up for 2022. We have done a lot of work to make the Content Exchange easier to navigate, and now offer a nice variety of content, both in terms of subject and format.
What are you most excited about for the future of the news industry?
I am always most excited about the content itself. There is so much quality reporting out there. When that’s the case, it creates great opportunities for growth and innovation within the industry.
What's something people don't know about you?
I am an avid baker and cook. My goal for 2021 was to make 100 new recipes, and my favorite new recipe would probably be a tie between fried chicken and croissants.
