What is your background?
I've been a professional web developer for more than 15 years. After getting my start at a small independent video game developer, I've worked for companies in the news industry for most of my career including 13 years here at BLOX Digital.
What do you love most about your job?
The ability to work on a variety of different projects that cover many aspects of front-end development, from access control to the video player. Not quite A-Z, but almost.
What are you currently working on that you’d like everyone to know more about?
Several new features for the one-page purchase widget which will make it easier than ever for users to sign up for a subscription, while also increasing the security of the purchase form.
What are you most excited about for the future of the news industry?
The realization that this industry isn't about printing newspapers—its about providing local media, and that can take the form of content read, listened to, or viewed across a wide variety of devices.
What's something people don't know about you?
I spend much of my time outside of work down on the bike path along the Mississippi river in the Quad Cities.
