In this release of BLOX CMS (version 1.91.0), we're introducing the MCP Service Integration framework for AI tool connectivity, expanding batch editing capabilities to support draft assets in BLOX NXT, and enhancing video asset workflows including VMS integration improvements and video clipping functionality. We've also increased data export frequency for more timely dashboard updates and addressed several important bugs affecting asset management and search functionality.
FEATURES & IMPROVEMENTS
Increase the Cadence of the BLOX Export to Hourly This improvement increases the cadence of data from BLOX to the DataPlatform project to provide more timely data in NXT. (TNCMS-556070)
Draft Assets Can Now Be Updated via Bulk Status Change In BLOX NXT, batch edit operations for content/assets now supports status updates for Draft assets, allowing editors to efficiently update multiple items at once (e.g., from Draft to Published) without manually editing each asset. (TNCMS-556219)
Bulk Upload - Workflow Assignment Support Bulk upload presets now support the ability to set the workflow for uploaded assets. The API endpoint has been updated to handle patching the workflow_id property during bulk uploads. (TNCMS-556234)
MCP Service Integration and Request Processing API (Beta) This release establishes the foundational MCP (Model Context Protocol) server framework within BLOX NXT, enabling customers to connect external AI tools—such as Claude, ChatGPT, or custom applications—to their editorial assets. This integration allows for automated content processing, intelligent asset management, enhanced editorial workflows, and even draft asset creation by providing AI tools with structured access to your BLOX content. This feature is currently in beta. To take advantage of this capability, please contact customer support to request access. (TNCMS-556095)
Apple News Revision Handling Improvement We've improved handling of revision conflicts when updating articles in Apple News. The system now automatically fetches the current revision ID from Apple News when a 409 conflict is returned, following Apple's recommended best practices for their API. Apple News support is currently in closed beta. Partners interested in participating can request access by contacting customer support. (TNCMS-556198)
Produce Notification for Batch Edit Processes (Beta) Batch edit operations now generate notifications when processing completes, allowing you to move on to other work without waiting on the page or manually checking whether the update finished. Notifications appear in the Notification bell, which was introduced as a beta feature in NXT Admin 0.24.0. This enhancement should not affect general partners, but beta clients will now see the bell populate with batch edit completion notifications. (TNCMS-556246)
Improved Solr Error Reporting A more descriptive error response should now be given when no Solr response code is received in BLOX NXT editorial search. (TNCMS-556197)
