In this release of BLOX CMS (version 1.95.0), we're improving BLOX Notifier with per-channel delivery logging, improving video and syndication reliability, adding web push notification support to the BLOX NXT API, and continuing to build out our beta MCP integration.
Features & Improvements
Per-Channel Delivery Logs and a New Incomplete Send Status
BLOX Notifier now records the outcome of every send for each individual channel, including status, timestamp, and any error returned. A new Incomplete status marks sends that succeeded on some channels but failed on others, so it's clear exactly what went wrong and where. (TNCMS-556515)
Video Transcoding Callback Support
Videos created through the VMS API now include a callback URL, so the CMS is notified as soon as a video finishes transcoding and is ready for delivery. The callback can also carry metadata updates. (TNCMS-556138)
More Reliable Parent/Child Syndication (Beta)
When a parent asset is syndicated, its child assets are now sent first — in the order they appear on the parent — before the parent is delivered. Parents whose children have all been sent are delivered immediately, keeping parent/child relationships intact at the destination. NOTE: To avoid interrupting content syndication for our partners, we’ll first deploy this to a limited set of sites before a wider rollout. (TNCMS-555679)
Set Origin Domain with an Automation
Automations can now add, overwrite, or clear an asset's origin domain through a new transformation, with validation on the domain value. Canonical URLs are cleared only when they reference the previous origin domain or use the redirect URL format. Support has also been added in BLOX NXT. (TNCMS-555406)
Faster, More Reliable Webhooks from Batch Edit
Webhooks triggered by a batch edit now fire directly rather than queuing as background tasks, so large batches no longer overwhelm webhook endpoints. Processing timeouts have been tightened. (TNCMS-556464)
Story Template Support in the MCP Integration (Beta)
The MCP endpoint can now search story templates and use them when creating new assets, including returning how many placeholders a template contains and what type they are — so an AI model can build an article from a named template. MCP support in BLOX is a beta feature for BLOX NXT: behavior may change between releases, and support across third-party MCP clients is limited. (TNCMS-556492)
MCP Consent Screen Available to All Authenticated Users (Beta)
Users who don't belong to any site in an environment can now reach the MCP consent screen when connecting a client, instead of being stopped by a permission error after signing in. MCP support in BLOX is a beta feature for BLOX NXT: behavior may change between releases, and support across third-party MCP clients is limited. (TNCMS-556552)
More Link Asset Options in the replace_asset Web Service
The replace_asset editorial web service now exposes options for a link asset's link URL and preview image, so both can be set through API calls. The web service documentation has been updated to reflect the new options. (TNCMS-555971)
Linked Accounts Availability Reflected in NXT Admin
The API now reports whether Linked Accounts is enabled for a site, so the Linked Accounts widget can be hidden or grayed out when the feature is turned off rather than returning an error on use. (TNCMS-556533)
Login Method Recorded for Analytics
Access tokens now record how a user signed in — a social provider, passkey, instant login, or password — and pass that along so external analytics can attribute logins and new signups to the correct source. (TNCMS-556569)
Byline Formatting Limits
Byline fields now allow bold, italic, emphasis, underline, and line breaks. Paragraph markup used previously is converted to line breaks, and existing assets are cleaned up when read. The BLOX NXT interface has been updated to match. (TNCMS-556561)
Cleaner URLs When Titles Contain an Ampersand
URL locking automation no longer leaves an extra hyphen behind when an ampersand is removed from a title. (TNCMS-556522)
Threads in Notifier COMING SOON!
Threads will soon be releasing as a target option in Notifier. Threads is now shown as a social media connection option, but it is currently in a test mode and will not work. This target will open for general availablity soon. Current attempts will result in an error for site users. (TNCMS-556515)
Bugs
Fixed an issue where an asset saved in the legacy interface with an unnamed custom property would error when saved in BLOX NXT. (TNCMS-556291)
Fixed an issue where creating a new block under Design > Templates returned an unknown error. (TNCMS-556484)
Fixed an issue where the video asset preview window rendered embeds smaller than third-party video providers require. (TNCMS-556605)
