In this release of BLOX CMS (version 1.94.0), we're expanding editorial tooling and the BLOX NXT Dashboards experience—adding richer article metadata controls, smarter dashboard alerts and exports, and updated ways to change the asset source—while resolving several reported issues.
Features & Improvements
Manual Override of an Asset's Source Application
You can now manually change the source application on an asset—for example, reassigning an eedition-sourced story to editorial—so misattributed stories surface correctly in standard asset searches. Note: this is not yet available in NXT Admin but is coming soon. For now, updates are made in legacy BLOX CMS, under the Other → Miscellaneous → Source Application setting. (TNCMS-556476)
More Detailed Logs for Layout and Block Changes
Logs for URL layout and block changes now clearly identify which blocks and regions were affected, along with user context such as IP and browser. (TNCMS-556354)
BlueSky Notifier Image Ratio Updated
The BlueSky Notifier provider now publishes images using a 1.91:1 aspect ratio. (TNCMS-556537)
Expanded Editorial Metadata via MCP (Beta)
The editorial MCP integration now exposes far more of the structured metadata available in BLOX—including sections, tags, geotags, and author attribution—enabling richer editorial workflows beyond basic title, summary, content, and publish date. The BLOX NXT MCP integration is an early-access (beta) feature; capabilities and access controls are subject to change during the beta. See the BLOX NXT MCP Integration documentation for setup and details. Note that this integration relies on third-party AI platforms, so BLOX Customer Support may have limited ability to diagnose issues originating within those external systems. (TNCMS-556417)
Content Management Dashboard: Author Filter (NXT)
Journalists can now filter the entire NXT Content Management Dashboard by author, making it easier to focus on their own content and track performance. (TNCMS-556155)
Smarter Time Intervals on Dashboard Charts (NXT)
NXT area chart widgets now automatically determine the most appropriate time intervals based on the selected date range, improving how data is displayed. (TNCMS-556314)
Dashboards Export: All Rows Option (NXT)
When exporting data from an NXT widget, users can now choose to export all rows to capture the complete dataset. (TNCMS-556413)
Clearer Avg Watch Time on the Video Dashboard (NXT)
The Avg Watch Time column in the Top Videos table on the NXT Video Dashboard (beta) is now formatted to make its meaning clear. (TNCMS-556333)
Dashboard Alerts: Percentage of Total (NXT)
NXT Dashboard alerts (beta) now support a "Percentage of Total" option, letting editors trigger an alert when a chosen metric reaches a set percentage of a total dataset—for example, when video makes up a target share of published assets. (TNCMS-556140)
Bugs
Fixed an issue where the Automations "Set Workflow" (replace) operation did not override a workflow already assigned to an asset. (TNCMS-556431)
Fixed an issue where a section-based teaser image could become a permanent part of an article asset in BLOX NXT. (TNCMS-556442)
Fixed an issue where a rule could not be removed from an existing user group through the NXT admin API. (TNCMS-556463)
Fixed an issue where granting a site group could trigger an invalid property error. (TNCMS-556472)
Fixed an issue where a system error occurred when opening the template library. (TNCMS-556482)
Fixed an issue where downloading a large asset export (60MB+) caused the export download endpoint to fail. (TNCMS-556513)
