In this release of BLOX Subscription (version 1.71.0), we're beta testing smarter subscription renewal behavior, and expanding audience reporting and contact search.
Features & Improvements
Default Field Mapping for Audience+ to Email Reach
Audience+ subscriber data now flows to Email Reach using a standard default field map when no service-specific mapping has been configured. Subscriber status, subscription start and end dates, service, grace status, rate, and subscriber name are all mapped out of the box, with any explicit service-level mapping continuing to take priority. (SUBSCRIPTN-557867)
Smarter Renewal Timing Now in Beta
Renewal attempts for participating sites in the "Smart Renewal" beta program now run at 9:00 AM in the site's local time zone, rather than in 2:00 AM Central. This takes precedence over other processing jobs so payments aren't delayed behind unrelated work. Renewals processed this way are distinctly identified in system logs for monitoring and troubleshooting. If you are interested in the Smart Renewal beta program, please contact customer service to enroll your Audience or Audience+ and Wallet-enabled site. Sites not enrolled in the beta see no change to existing renewal behavior. (SUBSCRIPTN-557807)
Retries Suppressed for Hard Declines in Beta
For sites enrolled in the "Smart Renewal" beta program, transactions identified as hard declines — including expired cards and invalid payment details — no longer trigger repeated retry attempts. The subscription stays active through its configured grace period, and retries resume with a reset counter as soon as a valid payment method is added, whether by the subscriber, a CSR in NXT or legacy BLOX, or the automatic card updater. Soft declines such as insufficient funds continue to follow existing retry logic. If you are interested in the Smart Renewal beta program, please contact customer service to enroll your Audience or Audience+ and Wallet-enabled site. Sites not enrolled in the beta see no change to existing renewal behavior. (SUBSCRIPTN-557848)
Paging and Sorting in Subscription Report Widgets
The grace, cancel, deferred, and revenue summary report widgets now support paging, making large result sets far easier to work through. Sorting has been added across these widgets by expire date, rate price, and rate term as applicable to each report. (SUBSCRIPTN-557823)
Deferred Revenue Recognition Extended Past One Year
Deferred revenue recognition now projects beyond a single year, so multi-year subscription terms report revenue across their full duration rather than stopping at 365 days. (SUBSCRIPTN-557915)
Search Contacts by Subscription Rate Name
NXT Admin contact search now includes a Rate Name filter alongside the existing rate amount search. The field is a multi-select dropdown with autocomplete and partial matching, so typing part of a rate name surfaces every matching plan, sorted alphabetically. This makes it straightforward to isolate subscribers on a specific legacy or promotional offer even when several offers share the same price. (SUBSCRIPTN-557870)
Reliable Defaults for Service Configuration Fields
Service configuration fields now return their actual default option values rather than empty strings. Fields such as Authorize Only Mode across multiple service types now present the correct default when a service is created or edited. (SUBSCRIPTN-557843)
Bugs
Fixed an issue where a subscription driver error could prevent the Access Control application from opening. (SUBSCRIPTN-557872)
We are also making infrastructure changes that should not be noticeable to admin or front-end users.
