In this release of BLOX Syndication (version 1.64.0), we're releasing updates focused on BLOX VMS video handling, expanded YouTube support, and fixes to wire content imports from AP and Reuters.
Features & Improvements
Faster Import Intervals for BLOX VMS Channels
BLOX VMS channels now support 5- and 10-minute import intervals, matching the options already available for AP, RSS, and WordPress channels. Video assets can now be brought into your site much sooner after they're ready. (SYNDICATE-553335)
Broader Video Detection for BLOX VMS Uploads
Wire content is now evaluated by MIME type in addition to file extension when determining whether a video can be uploaded to BLOX VMS. This allows more incoming video assets to be recognized and imported successfully. (SYNDICATE-553370)
YouTube Shorts URLs Now Supported
You can now paste a YouTube Shorts URL directly into the video asset URL field. Previously only standard watch and embed URLs were recognized. (SYNDICATE-553371)
Bugs
Fixed an issue where some AP content produced a video file instead of an image when generating thumbnail previews. (SYNDICATE-553356)
Fixed an issue where images associated with Reuters content could fail to import; requests now retry automatically when related assets aren't yet available. (SYNDICATE-553367)
Fixed an issue where the Trim video option was unavailable on videos added to BLOX VMS using a video URL. (SYNDICATE-553368)
Fixed an issue where provider logos in the wire channel list displayed too small. (SYNDICATE-553375)
