In this release of BLOX VMS (3.45.0), we’re introducing webhook callbacks for video processing and smarter thumbnail handling for BLOX integrations, along with fixes that improve video recovery, trimmed-video creation, ingest reliability, password-reset validation, and caption-sidecar handling.
Features & Improvements
Webhook callbacks for video processing
The video create API now accepts a notification URL and calls back when processing completes. Integrators can keep downstream systems in sync without polling, reducing stale metadata and unnecessary API traffic. (FLD59-2466)
Smarter thumbnail handling for BLOX integrations
When a BLOX poster update reaches the VMS, the incoming image is now compared against the current thumbnail before being applied. Identical images are no longer needlessly re-saved, reducing thumbnail churn for assets managed across BLOX and the VMS. (FLD59-2431)
Bugs
When a remote video asset is undeleted in BLOX, the VMS can now be instructed to recover its corresponding video. Previously, recovering deleted content in BLOX could leave the VMS out of sync. (FLD59-2483)
Creating a new video with start and end times produces a properly trimmed asset — corrected duration, with the largest trim set as the source media. Previously, the result was not flagged as a trim, leaving duration and source information incorrect. (FLD59-2444)
Resolved an intermittent timing issue that could cause videos to be incorrectly marked as failed during ingest. The underlying race condition has been eliminated; affected videos no longer require resubmission. (FLD59-2426)
The username and new password fields on the password reset flow are now properly required. Submitting blank values no longer produces a server error or silently bounces the user to the login page. (FLD59-2427)
Saving changes to a video no longer returns an error when an associated caption sidecar file is missing or inaccessible. Saves now complete reliably regardless of caption file state. (FLD59-1416)
