Locations:Â Hosted BLOX Total CMS environments with Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud v20.5 installed updating to client 5.79
[Monitoring] Adobe released InDesign version 20.5 (2025.5), which introduced a change in how version information is reported. This broke a detection method used by the BLOX Total CMS Client to distinguish between Creative Cloud and legacy Creative Suite installations. As a result, BLOX Total CMS Client version 5.79.00-01 attempted to load a deprecated Adobe Flash-based component, leading to the following error:
Error: UI element type 'flashplayer' is unknown or invalid in this context
This error prevents successful initialization of the client.
Development has corrected the version detection logic and removed the Adobe Flash dependency. A fixed version of the client (5.79.00-02) has been promoted to BLOX Digital Quality Assurance for testing. This update also formally ends support for Adobe Creative Suite, which Adobe discontinued in 2017.
Until the updated version is released, customers experiencing this issue should roll back to the previous stable version (e.g., 5.78.00-01).
