[Identified] The BLOX Digital Total CMS team discovered that some Mac operating systems cause document pages to crash after updating to Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud 2024.
The investigation confirmed that Adobe InDesign CC2024 versions 19.0-19.3 crashed when attempting to open a document page, regardless of whether or not the BLOX Total CMS Client was installed. The Total CMS team has confirmed this by conducting tests with several sites. The issue appears to be limited to sites using macOS Monterey or Sonoma with Adobe InDesign CC2024 installed.
Despite deleting the recovery files and the Application Support BLOX Total CMS folder, the crashing issue persisted. Even deleting InDesign's preferences and reinstalling Adobe InDesign CC2024 did not resolve the problem.
Adobe released version 19.5 of InDesign Creative Cloud in July, and Apple has released macOS Sonoma 14.5. After updating these SDKs, InDesign's performance improved.Â
[Monitoring] The BLOX Total CMS team will continue to monitor this issue. Our investigation found that BLOX Total CMS sites with MacOS Monterey or Sonoma installed should use caution when updating to InDesign CC2024, as the issue does not seem to impact Adobe InDesign CC2023 or earlier versions. When updating to InDesign Creative Cloud 2024, we recommend using version 19.5 with macOS Sonoma 14.6. As of now, the Windows operating system has not been affected by this issue.
